“In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.” Albert Camus
This quote harnesses the foundation of my therapeutic process. I believe within us; we encompass exactly what we need to thrive while accomplishing our deepest desires. Through developing healthy coping skills and challenging cognitive distortions, I believe anything can be attained.
I discovered my passion for children while working at a Lifespan Circle School in a More @4 program. Through teaching I recognized my desire, and necessity, to go beyond the classroom. Without speaking, the children told their stories of pain and trauma. That experience led me to counseling child survivors of domestic violence and parental substance abuse.
I hold a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate credential and have completed my Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health at Lenoir Rhyne University. I completed my graduate internship with Full Life Counseling and another local private practice in Winston-Salem. I strive to provide a safe space for expression and healing through multiple techniques. Although I have a special place in my heart for young children and teens, I work with clients of all ages.
Another equally spirited passion of mine is aiding in serving marginalized populations, teens transitioning into adulthood, the LGBTQIA community, and empowering women. I enjoy providing support through mindfulness practices, grounding techniques, empathy, education, and advocacy. My theoretic approach is humanistic, person-centered, and cognitive-based. I am eagerly looking forward to walking beside you on your healing journey.
