Life often throws us curve balls and we can be faced with different forks in the road. We make the best choices we can in these moments, even if the outcome is not quite what we expected. Beauty often comes from our willingness to be vulnerable and own our stories even when they can be quite difficult. It is in these times that I want to be a part of your life’s story that enables you to find moments of acceptance and peace.

I am focused on serving those who experience anxiety, depression, work disruptions, life transitions, caregiver fatigue, and grief, whether associated with chronic or terminal illnesses or other sources of grief, such as losing a job or the ending of a relationship. I serve the individuals who are facing disruptions in their lives as well as their family members, caregivers, and friends. I welcome clients from the ages of 18-years-old through elderhood, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, spirituality, and generation. There are many transitions in life that can take an emotional toll on one’s life. It is my privilege to work individually with anyone who may be suffering or searching for meaning in life.

My primary counseling style is focused on working with you to find emotional wellness and solutions in areas of concern to you. I do this by using a person-centered and existential multi-modality approach that provides a safe, genuine, caring, non-judgmental environment. After identifying a common goal for your therapy, we will work collaboratively to evaluate ways that will enable you to live your best life through self-reflective discussions. We will focus on what you are experiencing in the present moment. I may use techniques such as deep breathing exercises or the “empty chair”, which can enable you to talk about your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors related to another person without them being in the room. These approaches can help enable you to embrace and trust in your instincts that will lead to change as well as guide you towards living more positively in the here and now. Ultimately, I want you to feel understood, accepted, and appreciated for who you are, recognizing that we each have the capacity within ourselves for personal healing and growth.

A little bit about me… I am a counseling practicum student who is obtaining a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lenoir-Rhyne University. As part of the degree process, I am under the supervision of university faculty as well as from the Full Life Counseling & Recovery Clinical Director as I work with clients. Before expanding my career into counseling, I spent fifteen years working in a very large, Level 1 Trauma hospital and experienced daily interactions with patients, families, and caregivers, primarily in the field of cancer research and care. The interactions I had with those facing so many different life-altering circumstances humbled me and led me to my life’s purpose of counseling. I also spent several years in corporate business. My experiences have provided me with a unique view of life from both a business and humanitarian perspective.

My goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for you to share your story and to have someone listen to you with compassion, empathy, and acceptance. It would be my honor to work with you.
