Katie Nail, MS/Ed.S, LCMHC

For the past 16 years I have had the honor to work with children and teens in a school counseling position. As a school counselor I have worked with countless young people and their families as they navigate the struggles that come with life. Having spent so many years working in the public schools gives me an unique perspective to offer clients with Full Life Counseling. I understand the difficulties in navigating mental health needs in the school setting and beyond. I often encounter clients struggling with the effects of ADHD, trauma, anxiety, depression, and social isolation, but whatever the struggle I commit to meeting my clients where they are and walking alongside them with intention and purpose towards wellness.

I believe in the healing power of relationships and I work to make connections with clients to ensure they feel safe, heard, and cared for as we work to meet their counseling goals. I primarily use a person-centered approach with the understanding that at times actionable steps are necessary for growth. With younger children, I incorporate a child-centered play therapy approach to allow for expression that is in keeping with their developmental needs.

I received my undergraduate degree in psychology from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2002 and my master’s in counseling from UNC-Greensboro in 2007. My husband and three school-aged children keep me happy and busy in my time away from work where you will often find me on a soccer field. Additionally, I love traveling, hiking, and new adventures with family and friends.

As a member of the Full Life team I am excited to serve children, teens, and young adults as we walk together towards your goals and wellbeing. I am here to serve you and I look forward to getting to know you as we embark on this adventure together.
