David Spillman, CADC

The most rewarding part of my life now is helping others find hope and success through recovery from addiction. If you are ready and willing to make some rewarding changes, if your life and addiction are causing problems with you or those around you, please let me know if I can be of service.

Born in Chapel Hill and raised in Pilot Mountain, I am a North Carolina native. After a 20-year career in the diamond, rare gems, and fine jewelry industry, I was called into service in the substance use disorder treatment field. I am incredibly grateful to have been mentored by some of the best pioneers in the treatment industry, many lecturers who have provided education, others walking a similar path, and that of a power greater than myself. In working with substance use disorder clients, I find a combination of reality therapy, education of the disease of addiction, motivational interviewing techniques coupled with heartfelt empathy to be the most effective in the quest to impart acceptance of personal responsibility and to elicit change. I am a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor with 26 years of uninterrupted sobriety and nearly 20 years of working in the addiction field. I’ve worked in both residential and outpatient treatment centers. Since 2016, I have served as the IOP coordinator with Full Life Counseling and Recovery.
