You are taking a courageous first step toward making changes in your life. Seeking out help can be scary because it can be difficult to look inward and discover what’s preventing you from living the life you want.

My core philosophy is that satisfying relationships are essential to wellness. When you are not in connection with self and others, you may suffer in ways that affect your overall quality of life. Many things can inhibit your ability to deeply know yourself and others.

For some, changing behaviors feels like the most urgent priority in your life. Acting impulsively, abusing drugs or alcohol, harming yourself or others through risky behavior, and withdrawing into technology overuse can be symptoms of life dissatisfaction. For others, learning how to tolerate uncomfortable thoughts and emotions can be the key to unlocking the power to make choices that you feel proud of and lead to living joyfully.

As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate, I work with adults, couples, adolescents, and parents. Areas of particular interest include:

  • Alcohol and substance use
  • Sex therapy – individuals and couples
  • Communication skills
  • Relationship concerns
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Grief
  • Life transitions
  • Spirituality
  • Gender Identity
  • Sexual Identity

My approach in counseling develops out of my deep empathy with others. I strive to understand what it is like to be you, while at the same time offering a different perspective that may help you navigate your situation and life choices.

Celebrating the uniqueness of each individual, I honor the diversity of human experience, respecting differences in gender expression, sexual identity, race, ethnicity, spirituality, and non-traditional relationship structures.

I appreciate the opportunity to serve individuals across North Carolina via our secure telehealth platform.
