Liora Shir, MSW, LCSW (NC & FL), RLTC, LCAS
I specialize in guiding individuals, families, and caregivers through unique obstacles toward self-discovery and recovery. My passion lies in helping people uncover their inner strengths and achieve their recovery goals with confidence.
Much of my work is related to addiction. I have both a personal and professional connection to addiction work. I typically treat individuals struggling with addiction, but I can also help family, friends, or loved ones who have someone dear to them who is struggling with addiction.
I am certified as a Relational Life Therapist (RLT) and have trained under its founder, Terry Real. RLT focuses on ‘relational recovery’ similar to the concept of ‘addiction recovery’. Being relational is a daily practice, and many people need support to do it well. Twelve-step programs inspire RLT and can be used as adjunct therapy. In RLT, we work to break dysfunctional patterns and address issues of power and grandiosity head-on.
I received my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Michigan. I am licensed by the NC Social Work Board and the Florida Board of Certified Social Workers as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
