Elizabeth Wright, Graduate Student
Hey there! I’m Elizabeth, and I use she/her pronouns. Having a career where I can help others is a passion of mine. I believe that mental health is a priority for living a healthy life. Yet, I understand how challenging it can be to find a counselor with whom you connect. I hope that we can build a therapeutic relationship that feels authentic, easy, and safe. I wish to meet you where you are and walk with you through life’s difficult challenges, empowering you to let go of the negativity and rewrite your personal narrative into one that makes you feel content, healthy, free, and in control. I am passionate about providing a holistic healing journey, as one must heal the mind to heal the body and the soul.
My approach is creatively humanistic, as I wish to walk with you through your healing journey, empowering you to begin again and providing you with the tools you need to meet your therapeutic goals. I believe that releasing internalized pain, negative feelings, and traumatic experiences that wounded your soul (past and present) is vital to creating a successful and healthy life. I use narrative, creative, and multicultural approaches in counseling. I believe that each client’s approach to healing is as unique as they are, and respect all clients’ worldviews, cultural values, identities, and spiritual connectedness. I aim to create a safe space where clients feel comfortable, respected, valued, and heard.
I am a counseling intern with Full Life Counseling and Recovery. I am currently enrolled in a Dual Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling at Walden University. I am specializing in Play Therapy and Telehealth Counseling, Private Practice, and Supervision. I practice under the supervision of Dr. Leigh Zick Dongre. I am passionate about furthering my education and achieving certification in Sandtray Therapy and Creative Counseling. My clinical area of interest is exploring intergenerational and historical trauma, the known and unknown effects it could have on an individual or entire community, and healing the soul wounds that this type of trauma creates.
I want to emphasize the courage it takes to begin the healing process, or to consider treatment and recovery for an addictive disorder. Even the smallest step to creating a healthy life is a big one. Together we can achieve greatness. I look forward to working with you soon!
